Weather Concerns for
Winter Classes ???
Some of you may be wondering if we will have
class if the weather is an
issue- the answer is most likely yes. It is rare that we ever
cancel or postpone a class due to weather. There are several reasons
for this:
1) Most major roads are cleared and most of our locations are just off
major highways.
2) Canceling one day is 20% of the total class time which is a
significant amount. It is not the same as canceling a school day
in which you have 180 days or a college class spread out over 15 weeks.
3) Also, holding a makeup day is rarely convenient for everyone.
4) Most school snow days are called because of busing concerns or
children walking in the snow and cold, not because the adults cannot
make it to school.
However, if we would get severe conditions that make driving extremely
hazardous then we will e-mail you and post the cancellation on the home
page of our web site to inform you of a cancellation or a delayed start
time. In other words- no news is good news ! It is not
necessary to call us since it ties up our attempt to contact everyone.
Also, we understand that people differ in their perception and comfort
level handling various driving conditions. Thus, if we are having class
and you deem conditions too severe for your comfort level, then please
do not attempt to drive. You can miss up to one day without having to
reschedule at another date/location. You will be required to do make up
work for the day missed or attend that day at another location/date.
We believe our policy is fair given the limitations of a condensed
course format. We thank you for understanding.
Also, we still have openings so please notify your colleagues that they
can still register, but they should not just show up because we may not
have enough openings. They should call 330-833-7986 immediately if they
wish to attend .
If you only paid a $50 deposit the balance is due the first day by
check or money order. The balance would be $480.
Also, if you are not sure of the location you can find directions by
going to our web site and clicking on the link Maps &
Directions <http://www.communicateinstitute.com/Locationmaps.shtml>
Make sure you have the correct hotel.
We hope you have an engaging and beneficial experience.
Sincerely,
C.I.T.D.
