All in-service programs are custom designed to meet the specific needs of the group. The program will be developed based on the desired outcomes, the current knowledge of the group, as well as the time constraints.

A word about the Presenter:
Dr. Nancy Utterback has a deep passion for the field of character education and has attended character education training all over the U.S. from leaders in the field since1995.
She has attended numerous conferences and seminars from the character education leaders in the field. A few of the trainings include:
*National Conferences from The Character Education Partnership
*Michael Josephson's Character Counts! Training from The Josephson
Institute of Ethics
(Nancy is certified as a Character Counts Trainer
from The Josephson Institute of Ethics.)
*Rushworth Kidder's training at The Institute for Global Ethics
*Thomas Lickona's week long workshop at Center for the 4th and 5th
R's.
Nancy also:
*Spearheaded the initial Character Counts! movement in Stark County in 1996.
*Served as the Ohio representative for the Character Education Institute in Texas from 1994 to 1998.
*Authored the one week graduate course called Educating for Character that is conducted throughout Ohio. She has turned hundreds of educators throughout Ohio onto the importance of Character Education.
Nancy was a high school speech and theatre teacher for 18 years before
she and her husband Kurt started Communicate Institute Training and Development,
Inc. in 1984. Today Nancy conducts training for both educators and the
corporate world in the area of communication, team building, character
education and attitude. She is among a very small percentage of professional
speakers to be awarded the coveted Certified Speaking Profession (CSP)
designation from the National Speakers Association for her proven track
record of speaking excellence.
Nancy is one of only six professional women speakers
in the U.S. to have both a Ph.D. and a CSP. Fewer than 7 percent
of the 5000+ members who belong to the International Federation for Professional
Speakers hold the CSP designation.
Nancy has a BS from Miami University in Speech Education, a Masters
in Speech Communication and Theatre, and a Ph.D.
in Education with an emphasis in Group Process. Both her Masters and
Ph.D. are from The University of Akron.
